Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Cardiac Surgery
Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center (PVHMC) is a 437-bed, fully accredited, acute care hospital serving eastern Los Angeles and western San Bernardino counties. We have several positions in our CICU & Radiology departments.
The nationally recognized, not-for-profit Hospital is home to four Centers of Excellence: The Robert and Beverly Lewis Family Cancer Care Center, Stead Heart and Vascular Center, Women's & Children's Center, Sweet Success and Regional Kidney Stone Center, and offers a full-service Emergency Department, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Perinatal Center. Specialized services include sleep disorder diagnosis and treatment, robotic surgery, and the Family Medicine Residency Program, in affiliation with the University of California, Los Angeles.
The Nurse Practitioner will work in collaboration with the medical and hospital staff to ensure that continuity and multidisciplinary care is provided for patients. He/she will utilize advanced clinical skills and knowledge to assess patients and manage all aspects of care, including invasive, diagnostic and therapeutic procedure. The NP will communicate clinical issues to the physician, write orders according to standardized procedures/protocols, coordinate and schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, as well as facilitate arrangements for discharge. In addition the NP will support/educate clinical nursing staff regarding goals and treatment strategies in the promotion of quality nursing care and practice. May perform other duties as assigned.
[REQUIRED] Current and valid nursing licensure and certification as a Nurse Practitioner. Current California Furnishing License or within 6 months of hire. Master Degree in Nursing. National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner required within 6 months of hire. Minimum of 5 years of experience post-initial nursing degree.
[Preferred] Acute care Nurse Practitioner experience. Prior experience developing and coordinating an evidence based diabetic program.

Experience with educating and research
