Under partial supervision by research PI and other coordinators, the Research Analyst II will assist the research team in conducting observational and epidemiologically-based studies focused on inherited cancer predisposition. Duties include maintenance of patient derived databases (RedCap and TrakGene), gathering and maintaining study related data, assisting with logistics and management of study meetings, generating data for reports, and other assigned duties.
Preference : Previous experience with RedCap database. Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs.
Collect, organize, and evaluate data from a variety of reference sources
Develop and document reports and analyses summarizing progress, trends, and conclusions
Prepare reports for analysis of research data
Assist in modification and coordination of research procedures and techniques
Recruit and/or interview study participants
Develop forms and questionnaires that will collect the appropriate data
Create database files and maintain records
Assist in the preparation of materials for publication
Edit and/or type manuscripts according to accepted practices
Create informational materials related to research/study for dissemination to study participants, researchers, community
Make presentation of study concepts in group session
Presentations are conducted in a professional manner
Keep abreast of trends in field of study
Read professional journals and attend meetings and/or seminars
Supervise Research Analyst I, technical support staff and student assistants
Plan, train, and assign work
Coordinate maintenance of lab.
May assist in space and facilities planning.
Order supplies and equipment.
Manage inventory of supplies and equipment.
Prepares and maintains data derived from patient files, and enters in computer database. This duty involves data management skills and the use of Excel spreadsheets, RedCap database and the TrakGene databases. Performs Q/C of the data entry.
Maintains records related to the conduct of the research projects. This duty requires photocopying forms, establishing a system for filing paper records, corresponding with external medical records departments, and maintaining HIPAA compliance with respect to identifiable information.
Contribute to data analysis by creating tables and performing basic statistical analysis, according to experience and in consultation with PI/supervisor.
Attends research meetings with the members of the research team to monitor and discuss ongoing research activities.
