Postdoctoral Position in Molecular Neurobiology to Study Mechanotransduction and Auditory Circuit Formation.
A postdoctoral position is available in Baltimore in the Solomon H. Snyder Department of Neuroscience at the Johns Hopkins Medical Center. The successful applicant will join an active research team that studies the development and physiology of the auditory system, with a particular emphasis on mechanosensory transduction by auditory hair cells and the formation of neural circuits underlying the perception of sound. We are also interested in genetic diseases that cause deafness. We combine a variety of approaches based in mouse molecular genetics, biochemistry, cell biology, imaging, and electrophysiology (http://neuroscience.jhu.edu/research/faculty/129). Application with an electrophysiological background (patch clamping, ion channels) are encouraged to apply. Some experience in molecular cloning would be desirable. Applications should be addressed to Dr. Ulrich Mueller, and can be submitted by e-mail (email@example.com).
