Pediatric Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit
University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital is located on the west bank of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, MN. We provide a broad range of pediatric programs from surgery, imaging and neonatal and pediatric intensive care to cardiac and oncology (cancer care) services and blood and marrow and organ transplantation.
Our clinical staff apply innovative approaches to creating medical breakthroughs based their work with patients and on findings through research at the University of Minnesota. This has led to several firsts, including the first successful pediatric blood marrow transplant, infant heart transplant in Minnesota and cochlear ear implant surgery for a child.
Through teamwork and collaboration, we respectfully address the physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual needs of pediatric patients and their families.
About this position:
This position could be .6-.75 FTE is somewhat flexible. Offers of 48-60 hours every two weeks are possible, all of which are benefit eligible!
This position is working the rotating day/night shift
12 hour shifts, every third weekend.
12 beds, works closely with Pediatric ICU on same floor.
Pediatric patients (newborns to young adults)
Medical and Surgical patients requiring cardiovascular intensive care, including…
VADs and Heart Transplantation
Provides care to pediatric patients requiring close observation and advanced monitoring, using current technology.
Manages complex medication and infusion therapies (RNs are PALS certified).
Care for patient undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures/interventions on unit.
Care delivery team: RNs and NSTs. RNs with 1-2 patients.
Pediatric Registered Nurse Qualifications
MN RN licensure
At least 2 years current experience in a pediatric acute care setting OR 1 year adult or peds critical care is required.
One year current CVICU, PICU, NICU or adult Critical Care experience
Certification in related specialty is highly desired?
