The Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) is with a 2:1 ration. This is a fast paced ICU caring for patients with varied critical needs such as ventilators, all IV drips, IABP, CRRT, ICP, arterial lines, and PA lines. There is a focus on cardiac, renal, neuro and pulmonary patients. The nurse working this unit would need to have excellent critical thinking skills, ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. The Rapid Response Team and In-Patient Strok Team are based out of this unit.
