High acuity busy Level-III NICU with resident and fellow teaching opportunities
We are recruiting an 11th BC/BE neonatologist to join our well-established practice at Miller Children's and Women's Hospital in Long Beach (MCWHLB).
MCWHLB has approximately 6,000 deliveries/year and the 95-bed Level-III NICU regional referral center admits ~ 1,400 patients/year and is one of the largest neonatal intensive care units in California.
In addition to our affiliated group of maternal-fetal medicine physicians, there is full on-site pediatric medical and surgical subspecialty support including a pediatric cardiovascular program.
Services offered include, Newborn Hospitalist program, maternal and neonatal transport service, whole body cooling, iNO, Palliative Care Program, Telemedicine and a Small Baby Unit.
Our NICU is a leading training site for pediatric residents and neonatology fellows from the University of California Irvine (UCI), providing teaching and research opportunities.
Active participation in our robust CQI program is a must.
Long Beach is located about 25 miles south of downtown Los Angeles bordering the northern edge of Orange County. The area enjoys a lovely Mediterranean climate with an average of 333 sunny days per year. There are 5.5 miles of breathtaking waterfront to enjoy by bicycle or foot and even though Long Beach is the 6th largest city in California, it has a small-town, provincial feel.
