The Oklahoma City Veterans Affairs Medical Center is seeking a full-time staff Cardiologist physician as a heart failure specialist for Medical services. The Oklahoma City VAMC is a tertiary care facility serving Oklahoma and part of Northern Texas and an integral part of the educational and research mission of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. The Cardiologist will participate in inpatient and outpatient quality care, teaching, and research related to cardiovascular diseases. He/she will apply national and VA guidelines to patient screening, surveillance and management of such diseases. In addition to coronary interventions, the candidate must have training and be proficient in peripheral arterial and venous interventions, management of venous and arterial disease, reading echoes, interpretation of peripheral vascular ultrasound and peripheral arterial physiologic studies and nuclear stress test. He/she will also participate in the education and supervision of trainees. Candidates must be proficient in spoken and written English, Board Certified/Board Eligible in General Cardiology. Must have Internal Medicine certification, fellowship in Cardiology preferred, and heart failure experience preferred.
